One of the regularly recognized and commented upon aspects of male culture in the West anyway is the way in which some men will attempt to diffuse potential homoerotic tensions with aggression or violence or other shows of hyper-masculinity. We frequently see this in a lot of male-centric environments: fraternities, prisons, and the like. In other words, violence and aggression becomes a cloak to hide or deny any actual intimacy—sexual or otherwise. While this may not have been clear to Will last series, it certainly is in this one. After all, Will was in both legal and ethical bounds in killing Tier. And Hannibal knows it.
Well, that escalated quickly. There are no more ambiguities. Like Hannibal, he worked the case as if this one were not, literally, his design, even offering pathological insights into his own behavior as the killer. It makes it then all the more unlikely that he actually killed Freddie. Is this part of his design? To get close to Hannibal in order to bring him down? Or did he actually sacrifice Freddie for his cause?

I said in my recap last week that Will's apparent descent into darkness had been written very carefully so far, leaving plenty of room for redemption, his killing Randall Tier in self-defence last week being a perfect example. There hadn't been a 'point of no return' moment. Killing Freddie Lounds when she was trying to run away, and serving up her meat to Hannibal like a trophy, though — that's the moment. Or it would be, if Freddie were actually dead. I don't believe for a second that she is — Will either convinced her to lie low, or has her imprisoned somewhere, and it was Randall they were eating at the end.

Title: Naka-Choko 02 May Will's willingness to go to dark places strengthens his bond with Hannibal -- and garners Jack's attention; Hannibal gives Margot advice about her brother's violent nature. After reading other reviews I have to say that I don't for a minuet think this show was meant to be realistic, but it is great fun and highly entertaining, I have been really enjoying it and having some good laughs, oh the creative ways in which to kill off humans, and there are even some cooking tips!
