He fights crime in the spotlight, but like Bruce, Harvey carries a darkness in his psyche that is waiting for the appropriate trauma to bring it to the forefront. Surrounded by TV crews, Commissioner Gordon prevents Harvey from doing anything that could cause any real damage to his reputation, but there is clearly something wrong with Harvey, a button that is getting easier to push. Bruce recommends Harvey seek professional help for his problem, and despite his initial protestations, Harvey begins to see Dr. Nora Crest, where Big Bard Harv manifests under hypnosis. The first thing Big Bad Harv does? Flips the coin, of course. Crest tries to reason with Harv at first, explaining that Harvey has been bottling feelings of guilt and anger over the years until they became an illness.

Sign in. See the list. On the election trail, Harvey Dent gradually loses control of his repressed evil alternate personality until gangster Rupert Thorne inadvertently unleashes it. Harvey Dent's the picture of crusading nobility and it's not the demons he hides that's really sad; anger issues don't seem all that profound. It's that there's an evil presence pulling his strings and ultimately brings about calamity. In this case, it's Rupert Thorne, already a vile character, but his role in Dent's demise just makes him that more loathsome.

This, for me, is the single best interpretation of Harvey Dent. The exploration of his actual mental disease and how that affects the people around him would feel ground-breaking in a cartoon today. The whole episode is also levied by the fact that we already know and care for Harvey Dent. The relationship between Wayne and Dent is groundbreaking for a different reason. Seeing a friend care about and try to help a friend is something that can be seen virtually everywhere, however, the choice to portray Batman as a character possessing the genuine humanity to be distraught and sad for his friend shows such a strong understanding of the character.

A celebrated and brilliant lawyer, Harvey Dent was feared by Gotham's criminals and adored by the public. But Dent harbored a darker side, one that he successfully hid from the world, until a chemical explosion forever scarred the left side of his body. This traumatic incident brought Harvey's psychotic personality to the surface, and Gotham's District Attorney became the notorious kingpin known as Two-Face. In his first act as DA, he and Bruce were to dig the first shovelful of dirt in the construction of Stonegate Penitentiary. Five years later, Harvey started dating Pamela Isley.

Harvey Dent A. Two-Face is a former District Attorney of Gotham, but now a professionial criminal after his career was wrecked by an unfortunate accident. Harvey grew up as a true beliver in law and order. Revered as an enforcer of the law, Dent earned a reputation for producing results, which would lead to his election as Gotham's District-Attorney. However, the DA had a hidden dark side; Dent suffered from severe mental illness - a multiple personality disorder - that developed in his childhood when he mistakenly believed he seriously wounded a bully in fit of rage.
